A total of 179,512 bases from the cloned abl gene was sequenced using a shotgun-based strategy. This sequence, which is in three continuous pieces, abl1, abl2, and abl3 containing 35,962, 59,012, and 84,538 bases, respectively, has been assigned GenBank accession numbers U07561, U07562 and U07563.
